EMERALD WINDS - ABOUT OUR FARM
Our farm is located in Connecticut in a very picturesque
area of old New England. Lots of rolling stone walls and
hillsides with old Oak Forests. We purchased our own farm
three years ago and have been working on it ever since.
It's a beautiful location and it had formerly been used
as a cattle farm by Henry Sellew and his relations. Last
in the family to have raised cattle was Joseph Bauer some
forty years ago.
It's a beautiful place with stonework that is amazing which
includes many stone walls and a beautiful granite walled
sluice way for the brook and wall surrounding the pond plus
the granite stone dam complete with doors to raise and lower
the water level. We have old logging roads that are wonderful
for riding and driving.
Finishing touches are being put on the training facilities
now as we were delayed by the heaviest rains in any August
in Connecticut in many years. We have a 24 stall MD Barn
plus a 180 x 80 foot Cover It Indoor Arena. We ride and
drive every day. We have 105 acres of groomed trails and
are adjacent to Salmon River State Forest with thousands
of acres available to ride and excellent trail systems in
place.
Although we breed Gypsy Horses here at Emerald Winds Farm,
this is an "All Breeds Welcome" Training Center
and with expert level horsemen working on training, Equissage
Equine Certified Massage Therapists, grooms and staff, we
give the utmost care to your animals while they are with
us.
