We stand one of the most spectacular groups of breeding
stallions of the Gypsy Horse breed anywhere in the world!
Our stallions were hand picked by Emerald Winds and we are lucky to stand a
truly fabulous group. Each was chosen for a different specific
reason to compliment mares. Some of these stallions have
been tested and rated in countries where there are thousands
of the breed, NOT hundreds by judges that have grown up
with and ridden as well as shown the Gypsy Cob breed for
a lifetime.
Not all great stallions of the Gypsy Cob breed are papered
and rated in any registry and as common sense applies a
fantastic stallion is a fantastic stallion with or without
paperwork!
There is a huge misconception and it seems to be growing
here in the USA that "every" gypsy horse has a traceable
heritage. That is severely false and many "bloodlines" being
touted on many trader web sites here in the USA are incorrect
with incorrect sires being shown on horses for sale.
As I said, "Common sense applies here". You are purchasing
a gypsy horse. Everyone needs to understand, that seeing
as how you are buying a horse, buy the best horse your money
can find you. That said, if you are Many belonged to breeding
of specific families that have bred for well over a hundred
years in their clan. The true horse breeder traveller family
"knows" their bloodlines, "knows" their stock and its' heritage
whether or not it was a "written record".
We at Emerald Winds have chosen stallions based on bloodlines
and the animal itself. Travellers and friends have recommended
stallions to us based upon heritage and known breeding lines
over the years.
This is not written in any book but it is certainly known
by the true breeder families of travellers and they can
recite much of the heritage back to their great grandparents
days.
